Mastering the Pace of Play: How Lakeridge Links Reinvented Restaurant Ordering with Lightspeed’s Pre-Order Module

Post by shahriya699 »

The pandemic has hit restaurants harder than many other industries. With on-site dining severely limited or even banned, golf course restaurants have had to rethink their business models and find alternative ways to generate revenue. For innovative venues like Lakeridge Links , this has proven to be an easy task. By implementing Lightspeed’s pre-order module, they were able to create a contactless food and beverage ordering process. Additionally, they’ve improved the guest experience and are more easily able to control the pace of play.

Lakeridge Links has been a proud partner of Lightspeed Golf for over five years. Operated by Bruce's Golf Rewards , this 36-hole facility comprised of two courses, Lakeridge Links and Whispering Ridge, is home to beautiful germany whatsapp number scenery and natural rolling hills. Over the years, Lakeridge has been an early adopter of many of Lightspeed's new features, and the pre-order module is one of them. To discuss how the pre-order module has worked wonders at their facility, we sat down with Ryan Starr, Director of Golf and Operations.

(This interview has been edited and condensed for clarity.)

Why did your management team decide to implement Lightspeed Golf at your facility?
Starr: The reason we moved to Lightspeed Golf, or should I say Chronogolf as it was known prior to the acquisition by Lightspeed , is that the management team at Bruce's Golf Rewards was not entirely satisfied with the system we had in place. We needed a cloud-based solution that would allow our courses with limited internet access to continue to operate properly and provide a level of customer service that met our standards.

What attracted us to your system was not only the fact that it was cloud-based, but also that it was an all-in-one system that allowed us to manage our entire facility. Your open system made it easy to add different modules as our needs evolved. Most importantly, however, your tee sheet didn’t just look like a shabby Excel sheet and offered a multi-course view that allowed us to manage tee times for both Lakeridge courses simultaneously.

Why did you decide to adopt Lightspeed's pre-order module?
Starr : With all of our dining rooms closed due to the pandemic, we needed to find new ways to keep our restaurants open. Unfortunately, having all golfers order takeout after they finish their round or first nine holes creates significant bottlenecks. Implementing the pre-order module allowed us to spread out demand and ensure hungry and thirsty golfers didn’t slow down the pace of play. Having a single environment where all orders are processed also made it easier to manage demand, reduced human error, and ensured our golfers received their food on time.

How do you use Lightspeed’s pre-order module and what have been the benefits for your establishment?
Starr : The pre-order module has had an immediate impact on the guest experience we’ve been able to provide our golfers – we’ve had nothing but positive feedback so far. Once we adopted this feature and communicated it to our guests, we’ve seen a significant decrease in lines and delays at our restaurant. The QR code feature has also been very helpful in creating an extremely seamless ordering process. We’ve installed QR codes on course signage to allow golfers to easily access our menu on their phones and pre-order food and drinks from anywhere. Having golfers’ orders arrive in the kitchen while they’re playing on the course has even allowed us to offer a larger selection of hot items on our takeout menu.
