Full interview…
Symphonic ( Sym): Your new project is called “La ausencia de albricias” (The Absence of Good News). Tell us, what does that mean to you? Why did you choose that name?
Andrea Cruz (AC): «La Ausencia de Albricias» as an EP has this title because the four songs go through some very strong, very significant emotions, which I invite you to face through the email database australia song. The grief, the anger, the things that no longer work for us and that we need to move on from. So it is a very strong EP and that is why it is called «La Ausencia de albricias»
Sym: Can you share a lyric from one of your songs that is important to you and decipher its meaning for us?
AC: “Ruego silencia” is one of the songs that I particularly love, not only for the composition but for its lyrics, which are very profound. I was reading Pizarnik at that time, and she was my inspiration to write, and to compose, and to go through the darkness of words.
Sym: Your music has resonated deeply with audiences in Puerto Rico and beyond, and you have two big concerts coming up in the near future. How do you approach preparing for these live performances and what can fans expect from your shows in terms of new material, collaborations or other surprises?
AC: These concerts are very special because as artists we are doing a very genuine and honest job. We are really proposing the songs we like, that we want, to share them with people, so that a common home is formed, where we can all share music. Apart from the fact that I am accompanied by the flowers, who are my friends, my colleagues and artists that I admire. So it is a privilege and a joy to do two concerts with the music that one wants to make and say. The fans can expect a lot of fun and also a lot of hugs, a lot of love and a lot of affection, that is what we are here for that day as well.
