" My answer is: " If you want to do key customer sales, as long as you like it, your major, work background and experience, and age are not obstacles, but will be plus points, but you must be focused and stick to the track! Before I started working in key customer sales, I worked at the Computer Research Institute of Peking University, Motorola, and Siebel Canada .




I worked in R&D for 7 years , and then in key customer sales for 20 years. So I say that as long as you like it, major, work background, experience and age are not obstacles. But I suggest that you must focus after phone leads choosing the track and industry. You can choose different types of companies and play different roles, but don't change tracks and industries easily. For example, when I was doing R&D at Siebel Canada , I developed CRM . After that, although I worked in different companies doing key customer sales and selling different types of products, it was always related to CRM . I sold self-developed CRM products in my own startup ; I sold CRM consulting and Siebel CRM delivery at IBM GBS ; I sold Microsoft CRM products at Microsoft ; I worked as an independent consultant selling CRM consulting and delivery, and participated in CRM consulting and delivery; when I was at Haier Client, I was responsible for all service-related matters at home and abroad.


Digital transformation and IT systems are actually the client managing CRM ; there is a book called “ The Coming of the CRM 3.0 Era of Digital Transformation of Marketing and Services ”, which is also about CRM . So no matter whether it is R&D or sales; no matter whether it is selling products, consulting or delivery; no matter whether it is Party A, Party B, startup or independent consultant; no matter whether it is consulting, delivery or publishing books; they are all related to CRM . In this way, it is best to make professionalism, work background and experience, age, etc. not obstacles, but plus points. Looking back at the 20 years since I returned to China in 2002 , there have been many well-known experts and big salespeople in the CRM field.
