Google Keyword Planner
Google has designed its Keyword Planner to help businesses select keywords for their advertising campaigns and launch their ads. However, it has a couple of things to consider.
Pro
Against
It is a native Google tool
It can find search volumes for keywords in almost all regions
It was designed to help manage paid campaigns and therefore is not the best solution for SEO
Many keywords are missing due to specific policies, such as the category "medicine"
Aggregates volumes of search queries with similar meaning and groups singular/plural list of kyrgyzstan consumer email versions (e.g. science book, science books)
Google Search Console
You won’t find keyword volume, search volume, or anything with the word “volume” in Google Search Console. There is, however, a very similar metric: impressions . GSC impressions tell you exactly how many times your search result appeared in the SERP for a specific keyword.
That said, if your domain page ranks at the top of the SERP, then 1 impression = 1 search. From this information, you can measure the exact search volume of a keyword.

It is a native Google tool
If you rank high, you can see the exact number of clicks for a position and analyze how many people saw your page in the SERP (impressions)
You can only analyze the keywords that your domain ranks for for a search query.
Since the real volume of a keyword can be measured by the number of top-ranking page impressions reported by GSC, we chose to use this value (#1 impressions) as a benchmark of accurate search volume in our study. More details are available in the post explaining our methodology .
