The problem was, I didn't feel heard or valued as a loyal customer. His tone didn't say he couldn't help me; it said he didn't want to help me at all.
Your attitude is your choice. In this case, the representative could have spoken to me as a person. He could have expressed his interest and understanding, offered to help in any way he could or apologized for not being able to help and focused on making the best impression at the time.
While disappointing, this isn’t uncommon—in fact, I imagine you’ve experienced something similar recently—but that’s why it’s such a great educational opportunity.
Think back to the last trade show you attended. An attendee qatar telegram data walked into the booth across from yours and promptly left. Why? He was either ignored or quickly dismissed without proper recognition.
This is a problem because when attendees walk into a trade show booth, it means they have a reason for wanting to meet with the company. At your booth, it’s your job to find out that reason and find a way to help.
If your visitor wants what you sell, that's great; see if what he wants is actually a good fit.
If they want something you can't sell, it's not great but it's not terrible either; find out what he really wants and/or if you offer something that might suit him.
When you can't help a potential client, represent your company well by kindly suggesting someone else who might have the right solution, and reiterate that you're here to help if his needs change.
