Part One. Prevention and Control
I. Control and management in isolation areas
1 Clinical measures
1.1 Procedure for access and movement in the premises
Healthcare facilities must provide relatively isolated access to patient areas, including one-way passage and access to the hospital premises, with clearly visible warning signs;
The movement of people in the premises must be distributed according to the principle of “three zones and two passages”: a zone for containing the infected, a zone for containing the potentially infected and a “clean” zone marked with clearly visible warning signs, as well as two buffer zones between the zones for the infected and the potentially infected;
It is necessary to equip a separate passage to contaminated areas, a visually designated delivery area with one-way traffic and a passage from the service area (potentially contaminated area) to the isolation ward (contaminated area);
It is necessary to standardize the relevant procedures israel number data and procedures for the use and wearing of protective equipment by medical personnel. It is necessary to map all areas, install full-length mirrors and strictly control movement along all passages, corridors and other rooms.
Infection prevention and control specialists should be appointed to supervise the donning and doffing of protective clothing and equipment by health care personnel to prevent infection;
Any non-disinfected items should not be taken outside the area.
1.2 Location of zones
It is necessary to equip a separate room for examination, a laboratory, an observation room, and a resuscitation room;
It is necessary to equip a room for preliminary examination and a sorting room in which preliminary examination of patients is carried out;
Separate areas for diagnosis and treatment are required: patients with signs of an epidemiological disease and/or patients with symptoms of respiratory diseases should be placed in the area for patients with suspected COVID-19; patients with symptoms of ordinary inflammation without pronounced signs of an epidemiological disease are placed in the area for patients with ordinary diagnoses.
1.3 Patient control measures
Patients with symptoms of inflammation are required to wear medical masks;
Only patients are allowed into the waiting areas to avoid overcrowding;
The duration of patient visits should be kept to a minimum to avoid cross-infection;
It is necessary to inform patients and their family members about early diagnosis and identification of symptoms of the disease, as well as about the necessary preventive measures.
