Giving executives a clear understanding of the current state of the business allows them to focus on decision making, the researchers say. “Our respondents noted the importance of timely and relevant information, as well as the value of supplementing internal data with open data sets from a variety of areas, including financial markets and weather systems,” the report’s authors note.

Kin + ensure their AI strategies are powered by high-quality data. “Without reliable and accurate data to feed AI models, its true power will remain untapped,” the report’s authors warn.

How to Ensure the Smooth Operation of Industrial Internet of Things Networks

Misconfiguration, ransomware, and alert fatigue can ecuador mobile database downtime for Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) networks in industries such as manufacturing and energy. Experts interviewed by Network Computing offer advice on how to keep them running smoothly.

As IT, cloud and industrial networks converge in industrial facilities such as ports, refineries and factories, organizations face new security threats.

According to Cisco, 35% of its customers cite security as a top barrier to IIoT growth. Additionally, 93% of respondents to Barracuda Networks’ “The state of industrial security in 2022” study reported that their IIoT/OT security project was a failure.

In an IIoT environment, sensors on physical equipment are connected to networks, switches, routers, and wireless equipment. Because IIoT networks are automated, they can deliver new levels of efficiency by collecting data at the edge and identifying problems early. This is called the fourth industrial revolution, or Industry 4.0.

“Industrial IoT is the convergence of operational technology (OT) and IT to gain deeper insights into process telemetry and use them to actually improve efficiency or deliver new services,” says Anand Oswal, senior vice president and general manager of network security at Palo Alto Networks.
