The 1st was carried out before the installation of partitions and masonry
2nd - after installation of engineering systems, but before they are covered with ceilings
3rd - after the work, but before the delivery of the premises
It was necessary to take into account that the work was carried out simultaneously on usa email list several floors and that the filming had to be carried out before the premises were handed over to the customer.
First, point clouds were collected and registered relative to each other
Then they were aligned with the reference cloud.
Clouds were cleared of specular reflections, noise and debris in Cyclone
Thinned and split the cloud into floors in ReCap
Imported data into Revit. By pre-slicing the scan data, it was possible to not load all rooms, thus increasing the model's performance.
About modeling
Matvey Fetter briefly described the modeling process in 3 stages:
Analysis of photos and documentation, comparison of standard sizes, creation of necessary families, development of a library
Loading clouds into the model, starting the process of modeling utility networks
Simulation with installation in actual position
During the modeling process, Severin Development designers found out that working with documentation requires a lot of effort and attention. Therefore, they decided to split the team so that each person would work on one specific section. In this way, they managed to achieve a modeling speed of approximately 500 elements per day. The most difficult sections turned out to be those with the largest number of elements: power supply networks, low-current networks, and sloping pipelines.
BIM breakfast
Commenting on the issue of automation, Matvey Fetter noted that, based on his team’s experience, one should not rely heavily on such tools:
"We realized that it's easier to do everything yourself and be sure that you did everything correctly. And finish it there, without having to redo something later on the machine."
Conclusions
At the end of his speech, Matvey Fetter came to the following conclusions.
Laser scanning and photography must be carried out before the premises are handed over, and the work can be carried out simultaneously in different areas, and to align the scans, it is better to place marks on the object instead of a reference point cloud.
It is also better to carry out scanning in 3 iterations: after dismantling, then after installation of engineering systems, and again after completion of the work.
When modeling, the division of labor should be carried out by sections, not by blocks. And it will be faster and easier to model anew than to copy typical elements and adjust their position.
The scans were processed as follows
