How many Germans use subscription commerce?
81% of respondents currently have a subscription. The majority have a traditional subscription, such as to a streaming service for music or video. Only 7% have a non-traditional subscription only, while 28% have a mix.

Among non-traditional subscription users, regular product replenishment is the most commonly used option (59%), followed by product boxes (34%), subscription to an online fitness/health platform (29%), and subscriptions to online learning platforms (14%).

The main reasons for using non-traditional subscriptions
Let’s take a look at the top 3 reasons customers give for using non-traditional subscriptions.

Product replenishment subscription (regular deliveries of replacement/ thailand telegram replenishment products)
32% have started a product replenishment subscription for convenience/comfort, 24% have received a special offer, and 14% have received a better price than purchasing the products elsewhere.

Convenience is actually a more important reason for customers to subscribe than price. Of course, price plays an important role. Companies can offer customers a better price for making repeat product purchases from them. The time and energy savings from not having to regularly go to a store to buy the same items is a good selling point for these respondents. Some may also find certain products that are not available in their area.

product boxes
42% signed up for a product box subscription out of curiosity. 21% cited convenience/comfort as the main reason and 15% were recommended a product box.

As we can see, it is important for providers to market their boxes properly in order to arouse curiosity about them. Investing in recommendation marketing is also worthwhile. Customers do not decide on a product directly, but go through a customer journey in which they come into contact with the product and competing products several times before they decide to make a purchase. A particularly important factor during this journey are user reviews from other buyers. These contribute significantly to the purchase decision .
