Beginnings and difficult decisions
TALENT DAYS: Hi Aneta! We are pleased to have you as our next Talent Hero . Starting from the beginning, what was your vision for the future when you started looking for a job? What guided you in choosing your career path back then?
Aneta: When I finished my chemistry studies, I had two paths in front of me – working in my profession or outside of it. Both options were interesting to me and opened doors to different possibilities.
My experience working in a drugstore during my studies made me realize that I like contact with people and I like to use my interpersonal skills at work. This made me consider positions that are based on building relationships and effective communication.
On the other hand, I was passionate about data analysis. I continued my education in this field during my studies, expanding my skills and gaining knowledge. I knew that I wanted to use these skills in my future career. My vision of the future was not specific to one profession. I was looking for a challenge that would combine my interests with working with people and using analytical skills.
Talent Days through the eyes of Aneta
TALENT DAYS: What were your impressions after participating in Talent Days? Did the job fair meet your expectations regarding your search for this challenge?
Aneta: My boyfriend mentioned Talent Days to me. Honestly, I didn't expect so many people and such a crowd. At first, I was a bit stressed and reluctant to approach potential employers. I had previously sent my CV online and had no experience in conducting such conversations. Fortunately, the atmosphere at the event was very friendly. Everyone was nice and open - including the recruiters, who were happy to talk and answer questions. This made me feel much more at ease and I approached subsequent conversations with greater enthusiasm.
Job Fairs VS Traditional Applications
TALENT DAYS: When it comes to job fairs VS applying online, what worked better for you?
Aneta: I definitely think that job fairs gave me a big advantage over applying online. Direct contact with employers during Talent Days allows for a free and natural conversation, a better presentation of your skills and experience, asking specific questions and gaining valuable feedback. You can also get to know the company and their job offers better. My experience shows that job fairs can lead to faster and more effective recruitment. In my case, out of about 12 job offers, I received 5 invitations for interviews. People who actively participate in Talent Days job fairs really increase their chances of finding their dream job.
Aneta's advice on how to actively spend time at the fair
TALENT DAYS: How do you think people should actively participate in the event? Can you share some advice for others who are planning to participate in Talent Days?
Aneta: I think it's important to plan your day in advance and decide which stands and companies you want to visit. Make the most of the time at the fair - don't waste it on pointless conversations or long waits in lines. Take your CV with you to consult it. Dress neatly and professionally - first impressions are very important! Remember that openness is very important. Don't be afraid to talk and ask questions!
