Regulatory policy

Post by Abdur14 »

If we look at the legal level, we find that the Workers' Statute, in its article 6, prohibits minors under 16 years of age from working. But there are certain exceptions to this rule, and we find them in the artistic field. Since minors under 16 years of age can work in theatre, cinema and other audiovisual fields as long as they comply with the specifications set out in Royal Decree 1435/1985 of 1 August, which regulates the special employment relationship of artists in public shows.

However, in Spain there is currently no regulation covering the work of minors on social networks . And yes, we are going to call it work.

As for how the platforms are addressing this issue, in its policy regarding channels featuring minors, YouTube washes its hands of the matter and places any responsibility for complying with the law on the shoulders of parents. “ It is your responsibility to comply with all laws , rules and regulations relating to the appearance of minors in videos, such as obtaining any required permits, providing them with a salary or agreeing on income sharing , and abiding by any stipulations relating to education and schooling, the work environment and working hours .”

But who oversees that the guardians of minors comply bolivia number data with the law or are ethical? Apparently, the answer is simple: no one.

How much do these small creators generate?
According to the study carried out in 2022 by the CashNetUSA portal after analyzing the data from Socialblade, Las Ratitas would have generated total earnings on YouTube of 19.45 million dollars (about 18.27M€) throughout the history of their channel . This makes them the children's YouTubers who generate the most money in Spain. Another revealing fact from the report was that in five of the six continents, the channel that had generated the most money throughout its history was for children's content.

For our part, we wanted to continue investigating this issue, so we turned to Socialblade to take the data from the rest of the YouTubers on our list. Considering an estimated range of CPM (cost per thousand impressions), the analysis website establishes the following ranges of annual earnings for each YouTuber:
