Twitter reopens its account verification process: how to get your blue tick

?Do you miss the blue tick on Twitter? We have good news! Once again, the profiles of celebrities, influencers and brands on the social network will be able to be recognized by this badge, as the account verification process on Twitter has been reopened.

Several years ago, Twitter decided to implement an account verification system, which was based on the fact that if a user account had a great impact, the social network would contact the owner, and after a process to verify their identity, the account would be certified with the famous blue tick.
This process evolved over the years and with the large number of accounts that emerged, so the platform allowed any user, as long as their account created a particular interest among users, to verify their identity by this method.
However, in 2017 Twitter decided to suspend its account verification because many users accused the social network of granting this badge as a symbol of status and prestige, mainly due to the controversy that was caused after white supremacist Jason Kessler obtained his blue tick, while other accounts with a larger number of followers claimed to have requested this badge without luck in getting it.
