OPPO A9 2020 — an eccentric 5-camera smartphone

In Ukraine, the OPPO brand is not yet very well known, which is not surprising, because this Chinese vendor officially entered the Ukrainian market relatively recently – at the end of October 2019. However, on the global market, the company is among the top 5 smartphone manufacturers – in the 3rd quarter of this year, shipments of OPPO devices reached almost 31 million units . In China, the vendor’s position is even better, where it took third place – sales in the 3rd quarter amounted to 17 million units. It should be noted that OPPO is a division of BBK Electronics Corporation, along with two other smartphone manufacturers – Vivo and OnePlus .



OPPO produces smartphones in the lower, middle and upper price segments. The former includes devices such as the OPPO A5s, and the latter includes the Reno2. The OPPO A9 2020 model , which was tested by the editorial office, belongs to the middle segment, its price today is about 7 thousand UAH .

Design
In 2019, the company has stuck to two main design types: a “drop” and a frameless display with a slider camera. The latter include, for example, the premium Reno2 series smartphones. As for the A9 2020, it has a teardrop notch for the front camera, thin side bezels, and a fairly wide bottom bezel.



On the left side there are two volume buttons and a SIM card slot, on the right there is a power/display activation button. On the bottom side there is a speaker, a USB Type C port, a main microphone and a 3.5 mm audio jack, but on the top there are no connectors or buttons.

The back panel houses a 4-camera system and flash, as well turkey number data as a fingerprint scanner. The latter is located literally a few millimeters from the lower lens, which is not very convenient - there is a high risk of it getting stuck during use.

OPPO offers the A9 2020 in two colors: Marine Green and Space Purple . The photo shows the so-called Space Purple.

Due to the fact that the developers equipped the smartphone with a battery with a capacity of 5000 mAh , the device turned out to be quite thick and heavy (9.1 mm and 195 grams, respectively). However, the autonomy of the device really deserves high praise.

The A9 2020 smartphone can accommodate three cards at the same time : two SIM cards and a MicroSD card with a memory capacity of up to 256 GB . This favorably distinguishes the device from other gadgets, in which one slot is usually hybrid, so you have to find a compromise between SIM and MicroSD .
