I love Mark Manson's homepage:

Famous people always like to tell their stories of “rejection”:

Michael Jordan was rejected from the high school basketball team!
Albert Einstein was told that he was so untalented that every additional cent spent on his education would be a waste of money.
Stephen King’s novel “Carrie” was rejected by publishers 30 times.
Collect the evil critics' voices.

One day you can tell your readers (and grandchildren) great stories from it .

3) In a testimonial

"Some people call me an idiot. Others say I saved their lives. Read for yourself and decide."

So he takes the feedback of an austria telegram screening angry reader (“You are an idiot”) as a testimonial on his homepage and contrasts it with another testimonial.

Brilliant.

Because it shows immediately: You can either love or hate Mark – but you cannot ignore him.

4) In your positioning
If you want to position yourself as a blogger for a particular topic, then you have to reach the right people – and scare away the wrong ones.

By letting your critics have their say and showing that such statements do not suit you, you automatically drive away other complainers and critics.
