Before you move on to double opt-in, you should determine whether you want to generally comply with GDPR when collecting personal data . You can find this option by clicking the gear icon in the top right corner of the menu bar and then selecting "Account Settings" from the list on the left. If you check this box, HubSpot will enable all GDPR compliance features by default .
HubSpot Double Opt In GDPR
To activate the double opt-in, click the gear icon again, then click "Marketing" in the list on the left, and then "Email" in the dropdown menu. You'll find the function under the "Subscriptions" tab. Before activating it, you'll need to send an jordan phone number data opt-in email (i.e., the confirmation email) . Next, select whether the double opt-in process should apply to all pages or only specific ones. You'll also need to specify which page a contact will be redirected to after clicking the confirmation link and whether you want to send an additional follow-up email.

Setting up subscription types in Hubspot
Under the " Subscription Types " tab you will find an overview of all types of notifications a contact can subscribe to.
Important if you have activated the GDPR switch with the corresponding checkbox ("Marketing emails only to contacts etc." - see penultimate screenshot) :
If this checkbox is checked, HubSpot will check each time you send a marketing email—which must always be based on a subscription type—to see if all recipients in the email's recipient list have opted in to the corresponding subscription type. If not, the email will not be sent to those contacts. This prevents you from accidentally sending emails to people who have not consented to the subscription.
Please note, however, that this applies not only to marketing information such as newsletters, but also, for example, to thank-you emails after registering for an online service. For example, if a thank-you email is based on the "Newsletter" subscription type, this thank-you email will only be sent to people with a newsletter subscription. This is problematic if the person has registered for a webinar, for example, but not for the newsletter. This means they cannot receive the thank-you email for registering for the webinar, which may contain important information about the webinar.
To ensure this works technically, it is recommended to create a subscription type "Info Mailing" or "Follow-Up" for people who are entitled to receive information emails from you based on a legitimate interest in an offer, such as a webinar. By completing the registration form, this subscription type is then set for the registered user.
