The good thing about this is that if we are aware of this phenomenon we can take advantage of it. The same situation can be perceived differently depending on the language we use to describe it. The simplest example would be: “The glass is still half full” versus “the glass is already half empty.” In both cases the situation is the same, but our perception is different, and this will affect our way of dealing with the situation.
Among the principles of Coaching, this is the one on which all the others are based. Because although it may seem simple, it has surprising consequences that the coach can use to help the coachee, as the following point shows.
This is another of the most important cyprus phone data principles. The coach's objective is not to tell the coachee what to do, but to have the coachee discover it for themselves. The coach does not give advice, does not have to be an expert in the subject, only has to help the coachee to change his point of view.
When a coachee asks for help from a coach, it is usually because he or she feels blocked, because there is something he or she wants to do and cannot do, or because of some problem of that type.
The first thing the coach should do is help the coachee identify what he or she wants to change. Usually with questions like: “What do you want this session to do for you?” or “What do you want to achieve?”
By asking these questions, the coach is forcing the coachee to think of an answer. That is, for the conversation to continue, the coachee has to think about how to express the answer to these questions, and therefore think about what his or her objective is and how he or she would define it.
