It looks like you'll have to find a new username for your YouTube channel.

As TikTok grows, more platforms want to look (and be) like it. Hence, the existence of YouTube Shorts is no coincidence. Now, the largest platform for video will adopt the @username handles for creators and channels, which is not something that only comes from TikTok, as basically all major social channels like Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter use it too.

This is going to be the new way to share the name or URL of a YouTube Channel.

The initiative is already underway, but not for everyone. During the month of October, the platform will inform the creator when it is their turn to change their identifier.
