Speedgain for Databases is an observability tool specialized in relational databases

Basically, this is nothing new. This information from the systems has always been used for analysis in the event of a problem. This gives rise to two major challenges:

The data on the error state of the system is not always available.
The analysis is done manually and is very time-consuming.
However, due to the increasing automation of various IT administration processes, for example in an agile DevOps environment, it is becoming increasingly necessary to make this observability data available permanently and retrospectively, and afghanistan telegram screening to a larger group of people than just the operations team. The representation of the observability data over time allows for a better understanding of dependencies between different parameters and for deviations from the norm to be identified more quickly. The level of detail of the data not only allows one to recognize that a problem exists, but also to identify the cause of the problem situation.

This results in three tasks for observability software, i.e. software for observing systems that are observable :

The tool must be able to collect and display data from different systems.
The tool must be able to evaluate and display different types of telemetry, such as metrics, logs or traces.
The data must be stored over time and be able to be evaluated.
If you now imagine a heterogeneous IT landscape in which not only the final productive systems have to be monitored, but also all the tools necessary for the automation of processes, the complexity of this requirement becomes clear.

One solution is to use specialized tools for specific data sources or telemetry types (logs, traces) and to combine and display the data collected in a common frontend.

With the product Speedgain for Db2, ITGAIN has been successfully using performance monitoring for Db2 databases for many years. However, the software can only meet today's requirements with a high level of development effort. The reason for this is a monolithic architecture that does not allow the integration of other data sources and the adaptation of dashboards by users. ITGAIN has therefore developed the new product Speedgain for Databases , which combines the same technical expertise with a modern architecture. The product is now able to integrate data from various database systems, such as Db2 , SQL Server , Oracle or PostgreSQL, easily and scalably.
