These can be real dialogues or made up ones. Be sure to try to use them in your longread, because they make it easier to convey the situation.

Example: if you are writing an article about the rules of communication with clients, then dialogues will help to clearly demonstrate them: first you can tell how not to do it, and then through conversation show the most correct option.

Example: in a longread that describes the professors edu email addresses author's experience in the freelance niche, you can add screenshots of correspondence with clients to confirm what is written in the article.

Survey

Add interactivity to your longreads. Find out what your readers want and need with surveys. This way you can get closer to your target audience and get feedback.

For example, in a publication about how to properly manage money, after listing the methods, rules and calculations, a survey of readers was conducted to find out how much money they need per day. Based on the answers received, a second longread can be written.

At the end of the article, always place checklists, memos, tables, templates - so that users can download them. When the reader not only sees the benefit in your longread, but also receives pleasant bonuses, this will help create an attachment to you, the person will return for new content again and again.

Example: an article about moving to Europe describes all the nuances in detail and at the end there is a list of necessary documents and recommendations. The user will be able to save this file.

Example: at the end of the longread about writing a quality resume in English, a checklist for an effective version is added. It's like a cheat sheet that you can download.

Useful footnotes

If you have a fairly voluminous longread, but it still does not fit all the material, you can provide links to your other works or to others, so that the reader can study the issue from different angles. This way, the target audience will trust you more, and it will also be a good self-promotion.

Clickable elements

You can keep the reader on the pages of a longread by giving them the opportunity to interact with the text: zoom in on pictures, watch videos on the same page, or at least navigate through the content to the section of interest.
