Co-authors can add comments to a Word document by highlighting a section of text, going to the Review tab, and selecting New Comment from the right-click context menu. Others can then reply to the comments, creating a threaded discussion.
The Review pane will also be available in Word documents that multiple people are collaborating on, and will display all comments and changes made to them.
You can also go to the Review tab and turn on the Track Changes option, which will allow you to easily see all the changes, deletions, and insertions. The document will also show colored flags with the names of the collaborators, allowing you to see what each of them is working on.
