CIO and Boston Business Journal shows that the term was barely covered before the beginning of 2017. In February, the very first Business Agility Conference took place in New York. Since then, the term “Business Agile” has been omnipresent.
For example, Donna Fitzgerald from Gartner addressed the topic of “Business Agile” in the Project and Portfolio Management Hype Cycle in July 2016, just 7 months before the conference .
She writes: "We believe that Business Agile will gain adoption faster than agile software development. Other business units are much less committed to the waterfall model."
And it has really caught on quickly: In the Gartner Project and Portfolio Management Hype Cycle malaysia telegram data published at the end of July 2017, Business Agile is no longer described as an "emerging" trend, but rather as a "mature" trend (the original version speaks of "emerging" or "adolescent"). The impact on the economy is estimated to be "transformational".
(Both Hype Cycles are available only to Gartner clients.)
Trends from software and culture help accelerate business agility
Of course, the enthusiasm of Agile supporters is also reaching outside of IT. But technological and cultural developments are also encouraging companies to change their attitude.
