According to the job search service GdeRabota.ru, the average cash reward of a courier in November 2024 was 85,256 rubles. At the same time, the average salary in the country is 86,822 rubles, according to Ekaterina Agaeva, CEO of the job search and recruitment service GdeRabota.ru.
"The reason for the high payments to couriers is their work schedule. Delivery workers have irregular working hours, and most of them are employed under a civil-law contract, which means that the employer is not responsible for employees and is not obliged to provide them with an eight-hour workday. Therefore, most couriers work over 50 hours a week and earn more per month than office workers," explains Agaeva.
In her opinion, the difference in salaries of couriers and other professions is influenced by demand in the labor market. Thus, the president of the Association of Transport, Logistics and Postal Courier Companies of Russia, Alexander Mityukov, noted that by the end of 2024, there will be a shortage of 300 thousand couriers. At the same time, according to the Ministry of Health, in 2023, the shortage of doctors amounted to 29 thousand people.
"The salary of a doctor in November of this year rose to 74,407 rubles, according to GdeRabota.ru. But the amount of payments also depends on the type of ownership of the organization. A dentist in a city clinic cyprus mobile database is offered a cash reward of 50 thousand rubles, and in a private clinic - from 250 thousand rubles. However, in 2025, the government will index the salaries of public sector employees by 13.2%," notes Agaeva.

An official from the Ministry of Industry and Trade stated that delivery services operate on subsidies from investors, while remaining unprofitable themselves. But, firstly, it is up to investors to decide which areas of the economy to invest in. And secondly, are these services really unprofitable if they can pay such salaries?
According to the INFOLine E-Grocery Russia TOP study, in the fourth quarter the turnover of the Samokat company amounted to 58.3 billion rubles, which is 117.4% higher than in the same period last year. And the average number of orders per day increased by 50%, to 598 thousand. The revenue of e-commerce in Yandex for the quarter increased by 44% - to 77 billion rubles, Agaeva cites data.
"Therefore, it is unfair to talk about delivery services being unprofitable. And if profits grow, then couriers' salaries will increase," noted the CEO of the job search service GdeRabota.
