When not to respond to a reader of your blog (or what I would do)

One of the worst things you can do as a blogger is not respond to your readers' emails. Probably, but there are reasons to choose silence.

Not replying? To a reader? If there were 7 deadly sins of a blogger (I'm sure someone has already written a post about them) this point would definitely be on the list. I've been blogging for 9 years and a little over 4 with this one. Sometimes I feel like I'm one of those 40-year-old skaters (well, I'm still a little younger). I don't know why I say this.

What I was saying is… At first you get desperate because you feel completely alone. It’s like the first few seconds when you give a webinar (if you’ve done one before, you’ll know what I’m talking about). You japanese number phone feel like you’re making a fool of yourself standing in front of your laptop talking, thinking that there’s life beyond your screen. When you see that there are people responding, you feel calmer because you know that there is someone listening to you (whether they like what you say is another thing).

There are good reasons for taking the right not to respond. I used to see it as a lack of respect towards the reader. Time passes and we get older. Life situations change and with them the perspective (I sound like my mother).

This may sound familiar to you. “Hi, our company xy has just launched the super mega product that is the best…”. It probably sounds familiar to you and your boss, but rarely is what is reported in press releases really of interest to a slightly broader audience. I’m not going to publish it for you , it’s that simple. To start with, it would have been nice to call me by my name. Honestly, I also find it a bit annoying to include the concept of “Strategic collaboration” which in the end consists of me doing free advertising for you. I don’t think so…
