Avoid harmful canonical tags

Post by nusaibatara »

Canonical tags can tell Google which version of the page to consider the original. Check that there are no canonical tags pointing to wrong or non-existent pages, because these are used on duplicate pages to tell Google the canonical version of that same or similar content.

Link all pages of the site
Orphan pages, or pages that aren't linked to turkey cell phone number list other pages on your site, are difficult for search engines to find. Make sure that every important page has at least one internal link to other pages on your site . This way, Google can easily find all the pages on your site and understand their relative importance.

Manage nofollow internal links
Links marked with the rel=”nofollow” tag do not pass PageRank to the destination URL and are not crawled by Google . It is important to ensure that internal links to certain indexed pages do not have the “nofollow” attribute.

To identify these links, you can use Ahrefs' Site Audit tool to examine your site. Check the incoming links report and look for any errors such as “Page has nofollow incoming internal links only,” which indicates that there are only nofollow incoming internal links.

You should remove the nofollow attribute from these internal links unless you want them to be excluded from Google indexing. If a page should not be indexed, consider noindexing it or deleting it altogether.
