Building a bond with the crowd

Post by Bappy10 »

Cool, innovative and revolutionary
Back to the 20 platforms and Douw's prediction. What should the platforms do according to him to make it to 2013? "Looking like crazy for cool projects. They have a big chance of meeting the deadline and the more deadlines are met, the more popular the platform."
According to the crowdfunding advisor, projects are cool if they are innovative or have something revolutionary in them. Projects that tell a good story and present it in a fun way are also interesting for platforms. Furthermore, the applications should be as specific as possible. Ask for money for a book or statue, not for a marketing or business plan. Rewards also help and project owners should bring a strong network of their own. "Platforms could ask for a minimum number of Facebook fans from project owners and entrepreneurs as a criterion," Douw suggests.

But if it were up to him, the platforms would focus much less on the money from this year brother cell phone list onwards, and more on the other characteristics that make crowdfunding so special. “Crowdfunding is so new and everyone is so busy raising money within deadlines, that we forget that there is much more to it.” The trick, according to Douw, is to build a bond with the crowd, before, during and after the crowdfunding campaign. “You can use the crowd to promote you, to think along with the further development of your product, you name it. Entrepreneurs who realise this will be truly successful. That is ultimately worth much more than a one-off sum of money.”
