LThe “about” or “about us” page (or any other variant) is the great forgotten page on most company websites, including (incredibly) eCommerce ones.
NOTE: For better ambiance and to put you in the right emotional state, I recommend reading the following paragraph with the music from “Schindler’s List” in the background, or something equally tear-jerking.
The “about” page is the Cinderella of websites. Lost, ignored, abandoned, it languishes in a corner of the menu, often even relegated to a dark corner in the footer. It was the first to be born, when its creators were vietnam business email database excited and wanted to tell who they were and why they were starting that business.
Now it is nothing more than a memory of a happy and innocent past.
It hasn't been updated for years. There it remains, ashamed of how much its sisters, the home page and the product pages are pampered, while no one pays any attention to it. Outdated, it is a mere residue of an era that will never return. There are many things she could say, but she has been silenced, because what matters are the products. Now her voice, when someone stops to listen to it, sounds like the rustling of the yellowed pages of an old book, as she thinks of all those good times that have been lost in time, like tears in the rain.
