DSince acquiring WhatsApp in 2014, Facebook has been aiming to turn this well-known messaging platform into its new goldmine. Its first plan was to take advantage of WhatsApp's reach as one of the most used messaging platforms worldwide for selling ads.
However, the idea of having ads interrupting their messaging did not convince the public, so it was eventually discarded. Even so, the social media giant has not slowed down its efforts to boost WhatsApp's profitability. And a few days ago, during the presentation of the first quarter 2021 results, Mark Zuckerberg announced a new solution to this issue.

In fact, according to Zuckerberg's statements, this ad model is used by nearly a million businesses that operate within Facebook's services. The difference with this new approach is that businesses will be able to generate these ads without leaving WhatsApp , without the need to use the Ad Manager, and giving advertisers greater convenience when managing their campaigns from this messaging service.
